But as we grew, one thing became clear: in order to serve our clients at the highest level, we needed to take cabinetry — one of the most important elements of any home — into our own hands.

That’s why we created Tidewater Cabinetry, a company born from the very same values that built Girka Design Build: integrity, design excellence, craftsmanship, and community-first service.

Our journey started like many others — with a passion for building and a commitment to doing it the right way.

Girka Design Build was founded on the belief that home renovations and construction projects should be personal, well-managed, and done with integrity. We worked hard to guide our clients through everything from architectural planning and permitting to the final punch list.

In the process, we found that cabinetry decisions were often the most challenging part of a remodel. Delays from third-party suppliers, inconsistent quality, and limited design support were making a complex part of the process even harder — for us, and for our clients.

So we asked ourselves: What if we brought cabinetry in-house?
